27

There are 60 seconds in a minute. 60 minutes in an hour. 24 hours in a day. The time it takes for the earth to rotate 360 degrees on its axis. There are 365 days in a year, or 366 if it’s a leap year. The time it takes for the earth to orbit around the sun. Once a year, it reaches the date of the day we were born, and we add a year to our age. We label ourselves by our years. We set ourselves deadlines; of what we want to achieve, and how old we want to be when we achieve it. But life doesn’t care about our deadlines.

Top 10 Sexiest Harry Potter Men

The Harry Potter series as to be one of the best fictional stories of all time. One of the things that makes it so great is the character development. We disagree a lot on politics, but J.K. has a rare gift of making every character unforgettable; not a bland stereotype in sight in the entire series. Aside from making great reading, this also brings another thing- fictional crushes.

I could go on for days about how much I adore the books (and the films), but that’s not the idea of this post. So without further ado, here’s a list of the top 10 sexiest men in the Harry Potter series. (Disclaimer: these are just my opinions, and this post is meant to be tongue-in-cheek).

I Won A UK Blog Award

Regular readers of this blog will remember that at the end of last year, I asked you to vote for me in the Dating category in the UK Blog Awards. I’m aware that I don’t have the largest following so I wasn’t expecting to win, but I thought it would be great to get on the shortlist, get a bit of publicity, and attend the event and meet other cool bloggers. That was what I wanted, and thanks to people very kindly voting, that’s what I got.

But then, something amazing happened. I won the award.

Oliver

As the trees in the forest are the oxygen providers of the earth, the family tree is the backbone of the human race. Some family trees become diseased over time, and branches fall off and become separate from the rest. Thankfully, ours remains as strong as the most ancient oak. From our grandparents, to their three children and their various spouses, to the five grandchildren- now having outgrown their family holiday treasure hunts, and now it’s time for the next generation- you.

10 Ways To Help Animals, Aside From Going Vegan

There’s no denying the cruelty in animal agriculture. Of course, going vegan is the best course of action so the demand for those products is reduced. However, that’s easier said than done. The world is designed for omnivores. Even SALT AND VINEGAR PRINGLES have milk powder in them FFS. And even with the best will in the world, some people have medical issues or lifestyle set-up that makes a plant-based diet impossible for them.

After my Veganuary article, someone commented saying she liked that I’d included other ways to help animals for those who can’t or don’t want to go vegan. And it made me realise that actually, there are plenty of other things you can do. So if you have a medical condition that means that veganism isn’t possible for you, you just hate vegan food, or you’re a vegan looking for other ways to support the cause, here are 10 other ways you can support animals.

Guest Post: Pros & Cons Of One Night Stands

This post is a guest post by fellow dating blogger Zainab over at Tinderella Worldwide on a topic this blog has’t yet covered: one night stands. She’s super-lovely so if you enjoyed this post please make sure to check out her blog, and follow her on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

One night stands have a pretty bad reputation. I mean, they’re not something you’d brag about to your extended family, even if Aunty Doris was a stripper. However, they aren’t solely the territory of drunk students and investment bankers and are a lot more widely accepted in society these days. I think. So here are some pros and cons which may help you decide whether they’re your cup of tea.

Valentine’s Gifts From Lovehoney

It was Valentine’s Day yesterday. This post may have been better going live then, but I may have had a date that night, got a little distracted and forgot to post (sorry). For some of you, Valentine’s Day may have meant celebrating with your partner, exchanging gifts, and generally feeling smug. Some of you single folk may have got organised and planned a single friends meal out or signed up for a dating event, feeling ready to enjoy the evening despite lacking a bae. Others may have been stuck at home, reenacting the “all by myself” scene in Bridget Jones’ Diary, or just generally feeling miserable.

If you fell into the third category, I have a suggestion. WHY NOT BUY YOURSELF A SEX TOY?!

Honest Thoughts On #Veganuary

I’d definitely consider myself an animal lover. Kids I’m ambivalent about, but if someone’s got a dog I’m there. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 12. I don’t wear fur or leather. I’ve switched my beauty products to (mostly) cruelty-free. I don’t visit zoos, or places with drugged up tigers. Instead, when I go abroad I volunteer at ethical animal sanctuaries.

The one thing I haven’t done though is go vegan. Despite the movement really taking off over the last few years, and the cruel farming practices in the dairy and egg industries becoming more widely known, I’m yet to jump on that bandwagon.

5 Reasons To Date A Vegan

Known for being easily offended and annoying as hell, vegans don’t have the best of reputations. Despite having the best interest of animals and the environment at heart, studies have shown that 34% of daters would consider veganism a dealbreaker in a potential partner.

However, aside from of the extreme types on social media (and let’s face it, most of social media is extreme these days), vegans aren’t all that bad. In fact, most of them are actually pretty great. So in the spirit of #Veganuary, here are 5 reasons you should reconsider if you’re in the 34%.
